Everyone’s teeth have a protective layer called the acquired pellicle. This layer contains the surface dental stains and is removed during a regular dental cleaning or the whitening process. It takes twelve to twenty hours for the barrier to fully develop again.

You may also experience some tooth sensitivity during this period. If you do experience any sensitivity, you may take whatever you would normally use E.g.: headache

We recommend that you avoid the following for the next 24 hours:

•   Dark colas

•   Coffee or tea

•   Red sauces

•   Mustard or ketchup

•   Soy sauce

•   Smoking

•   Anything that would stain a white fabric
 

White and clear food you may consume for the next 24 hours:

•   Milk, water and clear soda

•   Bananas and apples (no peel)

•   White bread

•   Oatmeal

•   Plain yogurt, white cheese and sour cream

      Or cottage cheese

•   White rice or baked potato

•   Plain pasta or white sauce

•   Turkey, white fish or chicken breast
